Our client is looking for a Senior Ruby Engineer to join a fast-growing, international technology company building a high-traffic AI-powered consumer product used by millions of users worldwide.
This is a fully remote, hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working at scale, taking ownership, and solving challenging backend problems in a fast-moving environment.
What you'll be doing
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems using Ruby on Rails
- Work on high-traffic, production-grade applications serving millions of users
- Contribute to architectural decisions and scaling initiatives
- Identify and solve complex performance and reliability challenges
- Take ownership of features from conception through production
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, AI, and DevOps teams
- Work in a fast-paced environment where engineers have significant autonomy
- Use modern AI-powered development tools as part of your engineering workflow
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience
- Strong professional experience with Ruby on Rails
- Experience building and operating high-traffic, scalable production systems
- Strong understanding of web fundamentals, backend architecture, and performance optimisation
- Experience with monolithic architectures and/or scaling challenges
- Proven ability to take ownership and make technical decisions independently
- Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment is highly desirable
- Comfortable collaborating within cross-functional engineering teams
- Strong communication skills in English
- Actively uses AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar in development
- Comfortable working within CET ±3 hours
