Network Security Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Security Engineer to join our clients Networks and Security team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networks and cybersecurity, with a focus on the design, implementation and management of network security solutions and the implementation of IT security best practices. Experience with Fortinet technologies is a strong advantage but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security systems, including configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware, to deliver cutting-edge security solutions to their customers.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies, procedures, and technical documentation, aligning with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events and alerts, utilizing SIEM tools and threat intelligence to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, intrusions, and suspicious activities.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability scans, providing detailed reports and remediation plans to reduce exposure and improve resilience.
• Manage and support security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, endpoint protection, DLP, IDS/IPS, encryption, VPNs.
• Provide technical support services, conduct root cause analysis of service outages and implement preventive measures and best practices.
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders to identify requirements, provide expert advice, and progress updates.
• Collaborate internally with engineering teams, sales and project management to support process efficiency and improved productivity.
• Liaise with vendors and third-party partners, managing product evaluations, integrations, and the secure onboarding of external services and suppliers.
• Continuously develop security technical skills and obtain security technical certifications as required by vendor partnerships.Key Qualifications
• University degree in Computer Engineering, or other IT related field.
• At least 3 years of proven working experience as a Security Engineer or similar role.
• Familiarity with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiWeb, FortiMail FortiClient, etc.) is a significant plus.
• Knowledge of networking protocols.
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as Fortinet NSE or similar are highly desirable.
• Proficiency with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible) will be considered an advantage.Skills and Competencies
